The Australian groups, which have partnered previously on a residential projects across the US, have secured a prominent waterfront site in Brooklyn, and will now move ahead with plans for a $1 billion build-to-rent project.
Premier Daniel Andrews directly courted some of China's biggest Belt and Road Initiative companies, including one subsequently blacklisted by the US government, to help build Victoria's huge pipeline of infrastructure projects including his signature Suburban Rail Loop.
EQT Real Estate said the venture has secured five projects with an aggregate of 361 homes from Countryside Properties.
